November 3, 2002: Welcome to our new webpage! Click here to see a preview of the new version!
October 20, 2002: Progress has continued at its steady pace. The save problem was a major bug and took some time to find a way around it. After fixing that, the import option was added and now assignments, categories, seating charts, students, and all the grades/attendance of a student can all be imported in various ways with various criteria. The ability to re-index (sort) assignments by date and students by name has also been added. Updates still in progress include printing attendance records and grades totals for each category, drop/weight grades by category, and re-indexing single students or assignments manually, as well as a few other things.. Also, at least one more round of extensive testing needs to be done before the official release.
October 13, 2002: The upgrade is now 90% complete and about 75% rigorously tested. A possible problem involving the use of quotation marks has been discovered and has to be fixed before the upgrade can be complete (also, the import/export, password encryption, and category weighing upgrades need to have the finishing touches put on them). v4.50 should be ready by the 20th.
<Release Date Postponed>October 7, 2002: The upgrade to v4.50 is well underway. All big enhancements except for maybe one or two are in place and have been thoroughly tested. The upgrade, however, is not quite ready at this time. Part of the reason for this delay is because more ideas and upgrades have come to mind - including an option to allow for the dropping of lowest grade (overall or by category), weighting categories of assignments to reach a final score, merging gradesheets together, and full import/export support of most data types MGO utilizes (students, assignments, categories, etc). The new version of the attendance tracker was just completed today and it is one of the best improvements that will be included in v4.50 -- I can hardly wait to share it. Look for the release of v4.50 by the evening of Sunday, October 20th!
October 3, 2002: The site has been updated to PHP to allow for us to support an easy update feature in the upcoming MGO Suite v4.50. Version 4.50 is a major upgrade which include include toolbar addition, assignment can now be categorized, the interface has been rearranged, the attendance tracker has completely reworked to make it much better and easier to use, as well as several other things, including a few key bug fixes and tweaks to make the program function better. The release of the update expected to be Sunday evening and will be a free upgrade for current users.
September 21, 2002: The service hosting MGO's site died a few days ago. Unfortunately, that means I have had to get a new e-mail address and the MGO software download had to be relocated. Links on download.com will not be fixed for a while (they take so long!). This will be our page until dound.com is registered and hosted.
September 12, 2002: Version 4.50 is set to be released by the end of this month. It will feature major upgrades including toolbar additions, help/status bar at the bottom of the screen, possible interface repositioning, new options to make the test creator more powerful, and more! This update will be free to anyone who has purchased any other version of MGO Suite. Also, the screenshots section's images have been optimized to load (30%) faster.
September 7, 2002: Several more bugs have been fixed and version 4.11 has been released (bugs fixed include not being able to add more than 15 students, not being able to add an assignment prior to adding a student, and extra rows being visible due to scroll bar miscalculation when more than 15 students).
August 21, 2002: One of the teachers using the program noticed that any student number over a certain value caused the program to crash. This has been fixed -- with version 4.10 you can have student numbers up to six digits long -- if you go over the limit you will be warned and the program not crash.
August 4, 2002: The program has gone on sale just in time for the school year. The price for a single copy is now only $20, over 30% off! For any who buy in bulk, the prices drop even more!
March 5, 2002: Several small bugs found and weeded them out. Among them was the entire program closing when closing the test editor and a bug when reentering the attendance tracker or creating a new gradesheet. The version number has not changed. Also today, a new page has been added, a screenshots page, so people can see what the program looks like before downloading it. Enjoy!
February 21, 2002: MGO Suite can now be purchased online! Just click the "Order Now" link to register!
February 10, 2002: MGO Suite v4.00 completed! It is a major step up from the previous version. It includes many new tools and features as well as a new, nice-looking and, as always, easy-to-use user-interface.
